John is enroute from St. Joseph, Missouri toward Ft. Kearney, Nebraska. Even though he makes no diary entry today, here are some sights along his trail. Hollenberg Station (Kansas) is a Pony Express station that didn’t come into existence until about 10 years after John passed by here. It is possible that when he travelled by in 1850 that this was a small store that bought/sold/traded goods with the emigrants.

I am amazed at your knowledge of when the trading post came into existence. It is great that you fill in with what probably haoppened as John went by these geographical sites when he didn’t make a diary entry.
